‘Amala Hut’ opens new outlet in Ibeju Lekki

A popular Lagos restaurant, ‘Amala Hut’, has opened its third outlet in the Ibeju Lekki area of the State.

The restaurant which specializes in Amala and other local food delicacies, is located at Knightstone Building, Awoyaya Shopping Complex, Awoyaya, Ibeju Lekki, Ikota Shopping complex.

Also, the restaurant has good parking space for customers,

Chief Niyi Adams, a business tycoon and staunch Lagos Politician who owns the restaurant, said that the Amala and all other dishes from the new outlet will still maintain originality.

According to him, the journey of Amala Hut is not ‘Niyi Adams’ but a family business.

“We have other outlets aside from this. We keep trying and expanding. We deemed it wise to have something of this nature in the heart of Ibeju Lekki, with a local touch.

“As a businessman it’s always good to have a business that will bring in regular income. We could have opened this in Ikoyi or Victoria Island and say if you don’t have N100,000 you cannot but we decided to come to the lower part of the ladder, where with N1,000 you can eat and if you have N1000,000 you can as well eat. It’s for everybody. This is a grassroots area you need to provide for them,”

On the prospect of expansion, he said, “We’re thinking of going beyond Lagos State to other parts of the country and even outside the country. The vision is to have one more this year and one next year in Lagos before we go outside Lagos. I’m passionate about Lagos because I’m an indigenous Lagosian. The founder of this business, my first daughter, is a lawyer. She has first class in law. This is a family business and we’ll protect it and ensure we maintain quality,” Adam added.

“Wherever you see the Amala Hut logo, it’s all about history. We want to put Amala in the world record, we have what it takes.

“We’ve assured of buffet services. With this package, one can pay a little token and eat whatever he or she wants to eat. That’s only for Saturdays and Sundays,” he said.

While cutting the tape to declare the outlet open for business, the 2023 Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor, noted that in a perverse economy as in Nigeria today, food business is the only viable means of generating a sustainable daily income.

He encouraged the management to keep to standard.

Jandor said, “People are hungry, they want to eat. You must make sure that what you produce here is top notch, I have no doubt that Chief Adams’ involvement in this venture will make the difference because he is a man of integrity.

“He has given some of us professional politicians a challenge.”

Speaking at the event, Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Naheem Adams, lauded the Chairman for his foresight and business acumen, charging him to establish ‘Amala Hut’ outlet to all the 20 local government areas in the state.

“I’ve no doubt that with the involvement of my brother Chief Niyi Adams, quality, integrity and ingenuity are assured.

“We’re proud of my brother Chief Adams, he is a successful businessman. I want to request he extends this outlet to the 20 LGAs of Lagos and also build a complex in Ibeji Lekki to be christened Amala complex, am sure people will patronize it greatly, that will take this service to another level”, said the lawmaker.

A guest at the event, Mrs Uzoma Udumukwu, expressed satisfaction with the quality of Amala and other meals served by the restaurant.

“I give thumbs up to the management over the entire business set up ranging from the beautification, sitting arrangements, elegant waitresses and coziness of the place.

“As an Igbo woman I’ve come to love amala so well. The amala at Amala Hut is second to none. This is a place to be. My friends that ate vegetable soup and other delicacies have all attested to the high quality of food here.

“I encourage Lagosians to patronize Amala Hut. We’ve observed that those things expected to make a restaurant thick are here, no doubt.”

“We’re also pleased with the rate here. Like the owners said, with less than N1,000 one can get a plate of food as well as enjoy a buffet at a reasonable cost on weekends,” she added.
