Asiwaju Musulumi hails Oluwo as divine illuminator of Iwo

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Liad Tella, has described the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, as a divine illuminator, saying he was enthroned by God to remove Iwo from darkness.

Tella noted that before the monarch’s enthronement, the ancient town was far behind, adding that his emergence was to erase what he described as a generational curse and establish it as a land of prosperity.

He made the declaration during the Oluwo’s visit to the Tella family compound in appreciation of the role played by the compound during the 2025 annual Iwo Day.

The renowned journalist expressed full support for his actions and developmental strides, and pledged the continuous loyalty of all sons and daughters of the Tella Compound, both at home and abroad, to the traditional governance of the Oluwo.

“All the sons and daughters of the Tella Compound fully support your actions since the enthronement. You have brought monumental honour, development and growth to Iwo. Before your enthronement, Iwo was far behind,” he said.

“Oluwo is an illuminator who removed Iwo from perpetual darkness. He brought honour to the land. I have strong hopes that his visit will further extend the illumination to the sons and daughters of the Tella Compound.

“Today, we are proud of you. You have fought and won. You shall continue to conquer. We are proud of you. The Tella Compound is fully in support of your traditional style.”
