Christmas: Shettima reaffirms FG’s commitment to unity, security, economic growth

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured Nigerians of the federal government’s commitment to national security, economic transformation, and the overall welfare of citizens.

In a Christmas message delivered on Wednesday, the Vice President emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains resolute in addressing these critical areas as the nation anticipates the opportunities and challenges of the coming year.

Speaking through a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Vice President Shettima said, “In these times of economic transformation, I want to assure you that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration remains steadfast in its commitment to improving the lives of all Nigerians.”

The Vice President also urged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of national unity during the festive season.

He remarked, “Nigeria’s diversity remains our greatest strength. Let us avail ourselves of the time provided by the holiday season to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us across all faiths and regions.

“Addressing security concerns, Vice President Shettima reassured citizens of the government’s unwavering efforts to ensure their safety, particularly during the holiday period.”

Our brave security personnel will continue to work round the clock during this festive period to keep us safe,” he stated.

He further highlighted that enhanced security measures have been deployed to safeguard citizens and ensure smooth travel during the holidays.

“The relevant agencies have been mobilized to ensure your safety and comfort on all major routes,” he added, while also advising travelers to remain vigilant.

Looking ahead to the new year, the Vice President expressed confidence in Nigeria’s prospects, saying, “I am filled with hope and optimism about Nigeria’s future. Together, we will build a more prosperous and united nation.”

He concluded by addressing the youth, emphasizing their vital role in the country’s development.

“To our young people, you are the backbone of our nation. The Renewed Hope administration is implementing various initiatives to create opportunities for you to thrive and contribute to Nigeria’s development,” he added.
