Davido to address security, INEC preparations ahead of Osun governorship election

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will on Wednesday address journalists and residents on security, the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other issues ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.

According to an invitation released on Tuesday, the press conference will hold at 11 a.m. at Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.

Announcing the event on his X account, Davido said the briefing would focus on security, electoral transparency and the role of INEC in the forthcoming election.

“I will be having a press conference tomorrow at Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues,” he wrote.

The singer, who was recently appointed chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, is expected to speak on concerns surrounding the electoral process and the security situation ahead of the poll.

Governor Adeleke, who is contesting for a second term on the platform of the Accord Party, will seek re-election in the August 15 governorship election.

Davido, the governor’s nephew, has played an active role in the campaign, leading youth mobilisation efforts and participating in several campaign activities across the state.
