Despite 2 divorces, I want to inspire young people – Funke Akindele
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has said she is determied to inspire Nigerian youths despite being divorced twice.
The Jenifa star said she doesn’t regard her crashed marriages as failures.
“If you ask me now can you tell me one failure, I don’t see it as a failure. My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes,” she said.
Speaking further Akindele said she just takes things “as it comes,” stressing that her mental health and career are more important.
“My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling,” she said.
The thespian also noted that her priority is to live an impactful life and cater for her children and siblings.
“I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up,” she explained.
The Nollywood blockbuster superstar also admitted crying when things go rough saying, “Yes I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just clean the tears, look in the mirror and keep moving.”
She was married to Kenny Almaroof and divorced. Then, she remarried JJC Skillz and they are now divorced.
