The arrests were made at various locations in Ilorin, including Sango, Kulende, Taxaco, and Harmony Estate, following credible intelligence reports.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale. According to the statement, the arrests took place on September 6, 2024, as part of the agency’s ongoing crackdown on cybercrime in the region.
During the operation, the EFCC recovered six exotic cars, laptops, smartphones, and charms from the suspects. The agency confirmed that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
It is noteworthy that just two days prior, the Ilorin Zonal Directorate had arrested 56 other suspected internet fraudsters in a separate operation.
