Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State have cautioned party members against relaxing ahead of the June 20 governorship election, urging them to strengthen grassroots mobilisation efforts to secure victory for the party.

The call was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Iyin-Ekiti residence of former Ekiti State Governor, Niyi Adebayo, where party leaders reviewed preparations for the poll.

Adebayo warned supporters against relying on predictions of an easy win, stressing that electoral success would only come through hard work, commitment and sustained engagement with voters across the state.

Describing Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a leader who had delivered meaningful development to Ekiti people, he urged party faithful to work tirelessly to ensure his re-election.

Speaking at the meeting, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in him as chairman of the APC Campaign Council, assuring members of the party’s readiness for the election.

Bamidele further disclosed that the governor enjoyed widespread acceptance among residents but advised party members not to take the election for granted, urging them to intensify efforts to reach voters at the grassroots level.

Oyebanji, in his remarks, commended party leaders and supporters for their dedication to the campaign, noting that unity and hard work remained critical to achieving a landslide victory. He added that the election would also serve as an opportunity for Ekiti people to demonstrate their support for President Bola Tinubu.

“On June 20, we want to show that the South-West stands firmly behind President Tinubu. The outcome of this election will send a strong message to the rest of the country, and we must work together to achieve our target,” the governor said, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the poll.
