Ex-IPAC spokesperson urges critics to commend Aiyedatiwa’s infrastructure projects

A former spokesperson for the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ondo State, Pastor Peter Olagookun, has urged critics of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, particularly members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to acknowledge the administration’s achievements in appointments and infrastructure development.
Olagookun, who made the call in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday in Akure, described it as contradictory for members of the ruling party to oppose a government led by their own party, warning that persistent criticism could undermine the APC administration in the state.
He said the governor’s appointments, including the appointment of 1,000 special assistants and other aides, had generated excitement among residents, noting that the administration had also made several appointments in 2024.
According to him, the 2024 appointments included more than 50 senior special assistants and over 500 special assistants, adding that some of those currently criticising the governor had benefited from earlier appointments.
“I wonder why some people in APC in Ondo State turn themselves into opposition in their own party that is in government,” he said.
Olagookun also dismissed allegations that Aiyedatiwa was engaging in anti-party activities, arguing that such claims were being made by some party members to undermine the administration and its programmes.
The former IPAC spokesperson further commended the governor for his infrastructure projects across the state, alleging that some critics had privately contacted him to discourage him from praising the administration’s achievements and defending its policies.
He urged Aiyedatiwa to sustain his inclusive approach by bringing together members of different political factions and parties in the interest of the state, while congratulating the newly appointed political office holders, including Prince Adesanya Olaoluwa, the governor’s special adviser on Inter-Party Affairs.
