North will repay Tinubu’s support for Buhari with 2027 votes, Yari says

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, says the North will overwhelmingly support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 in appreciation of his role in securing the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and his re-election in 2019.
Yari said northern voters were prepared to reciprocate Tinubu’s political support for Buhari by ensuring that the incumbent President completes two terms in office.
He stated this on Monday at the APC presidential campaign rally at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State, where party leaders and supporters gathered to mobilise votes for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
The former Zamfara State governor said the North remained committed to the rotation of presidential power between the northern and southern regions, warning against any attempt to disrupt the arrangement.
“President Tinubu supported Buhari in 2015 and 2019. The North will reciprocate this gesture. He will go for a second term and the North has no intention to shorten his tenure,” Yari said.
He added that the President’s economic reforms were beginning to yield results, expressing confidence that Nigerians who initially opposed some of his policies were gradually changing their positions.
“The signs we are seeing presently are very bright and those who were angry at the President before have now sheathed their swords,” he said.
Yari, who recently returned from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, said Tinubu deserved another term because of his political goodwill towards the North and his commitment to national development.
“We will repay the good done to us by President Tinubu by re-electing him back to office in 2027. We don’t want anybody to disrupt the seamless rotation that has come to stay in Nigeria.
