Fayemi hails seamless voting process in Ekiti, cites orderliness, efficiency

Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has lauded the conduct of Saturday’s governorship election across the state, describing the voting process as orderly and efficient.

Fayemi, who voted at Polling Unit 9, Ward 11, in Isan Ekiti, said the exercise was conducted without hitches, adding that voter accreditation and balloting proceeded smoothly.

The former governor commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission for the level of organisation displayed during the exercise, noting that the process reflected significant improvement.

According to him, both accreditation and voting were completed seamlessly, a development he said was not always the case in previous elections.

Similarly, after casting his vote, former Senator and National Assembly member, Ayo Arise, described the election as peaceful and well coordinated.

However, Arise noted that voter turnout in his area fell short of expectations, saying the queues observed were smaller than those witnessed during past elections.

Despite the turnout concerns, he expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress would secure victory, insisting that the party remained the dominant political force in the state.

He added that while the aspiration of delivering a massive vote tally for the APC remained desirable, failure to achieve such a target would only underscore the need for greater voter mobilisation in future elections. Overall, he also commended the organizers of the poll and residents who came out to perform their civic duties.
