Kogi East leaders praise Tinubu, Ododo over infrastructure projects

Political and community leaders in Kogi East Senatorial District have praised President Bola Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo for infrastructure projects executed in the area, saying the interventions have improved livelihoods and boosted economic activities.
The commendation came on Tuesday as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Communications Team inspected federal and state government projects across Kogi State.
At Ankpa Local Government Area, the delegation toured a 12-kilometre internal road with a 24-kilometre double-sided drainage network constructed by the Ododo administration.
According to a statement by Tunde Rahman, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Special Duties and Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the inspection forms part of an ongoing assessment of key federal and state government projects being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda in Kogi State.

Speaking during the inspection, Chairman of Ankpa Local Government, Alhaji Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, described the erosion control and road intervention as the biggest government project ever undertaken in the council.
According to him, the project has transformed the area and addressed long-standing environmental challenges.
“Ankpa Local Government is an old local government. It was in the Benue-Plateau State and later in the old Kwara State before the creation of Kogi State. But I can categorically say the project is the biggest and most impactful by any administration for this local government,” he said.
He commended both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo for the intervention.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, said the project was implemented under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL), a World Bank-supported programme with counterpart funding from the state government.
