2027: APC campaign council gets Emir of Ilorin’s support for Tinubu

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has sought the prayers and support of traditional rulers in Kwara State for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Yari appealed for separate visits to the Kwara State Government House and the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as part of the council’s consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the Government House in Ilorin, the former Zamfara State governor said the delegation was in the state to pay homage to royal fathers and strengthen efforts to secure Tinubu’s return to office.
“We are all on one mission, and that is to ensure President Bola Tinubu returns to power in 2027, in sha Allah,” he said.
Yari, who led a delegation of former governors and other party leaders, acknowledged the importance of governors in election campaigns, noting that team members understood the political influence and responsibilities that come with governing a state.
He commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his contributions to the APC and pledged that the campaign council would work with state governments and other party stakeholders to achieve its objectives.
“We are going to work in synergy with the states and every member of the council, or any other person whom we know is going to support this cause,” he said.
Yari also appreciated AbdulRazaq for the reception accorded to the delegation upon its arrival at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, describing it as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the party.
On his part, AbdulRazaq said his administration had resolved the issues of unpaid salaries, pensions and gratuities that prevailed when it took office in 2019.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s governorship candidate, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, describing him as a grassroots politician familiar with the administration’s policies and programmes.
In his response, Sulu-Gambari thanked the delegation for the visit and prayed for the success of Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections. He expressed confidence in the team’s prospects, wishing its members success in their political endeavours.
