Lagos launches victim enumeration exercise for GNI fire survivors

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have announced a victim enumeration exercise for individuals affected by the recent Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) house fire on Martins Street, Lagos Island.
The exercise, part of ongoing post-incident recovery efforts, aims to document victims, provide recovery support, and facilitate necessary follow-up actions. Relatives of victims and those impacted by the disaster have been urged to participate.
The enumeration, which will take place at the Adeyemi Bero Centre, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, on February 9th and 13th, will guide attendees through the registration and documentation process.
Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of LASEMA, emphasized the importance of public cooperation, stating, “This exercise is crucial for ensuring that all affected individuals are properly documented and receive the support they need. Members of the public are encouraged to comply fully with officials during the process,” he said.
Authorities have assured the public that further updates will be communicated as necessary.
