The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has trained its officers in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve operational reporting, information flow and decision-making during emergency response activities.
The agency disclosed this in a statement following a one-day training held on November 2, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Facilitated by Mr. Amao Oluseyi Bamidele, the session introduced participants to AI tools for writing, image generation, data analysis and communication, with practical demonstrations of their application in emergency management.
Officers were trained to use AI for incident documentation, report writing, emergency scene analysis and public communication.
The programme also covered effective prompt writing to help staff generate accurate and relevant information.
LASEMA said the training was designed to equip personnel with skills to produce real-time operational reports, improve response coordination and communicate more effectively with stakeholders during emergencies.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to adopting modern technology and strengthening staff capacity to deliver faster and more efficient emergency services across Lagos.
Residents were urged to report emergencies through the state’s toll-free lines, 767 and 112.
