The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep concern over the multiple deaths and abduction of innocent citizens during Saturday night’s terrorist attacks across Tunga-Makeri, Konkoso, and Pissa communities in Niger State.

In a statement signed by its chairman and incumbent governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the forum conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

The governors’ forum also extended sympathy to the people and government of Kwara State over the recent terrorist attack in Woro, Kaiama LGA, where dozens of residents were reportedly killed for rejecting a doctrine inconsistent with Islam.

The NGF stated, “We send our sincerest condolences to all the families who lost loved ones in these tragic attacks. We acknowledge and share in the trauma and pain of the survivors, and we pray for the safe return of those still missing.”

In addition, the forum commended Nigerian security operatives for their dedication and the successes achieved so far in combating banditry and terrorism.

“We applaud the gallantry and sacrifices of our security forces across various theatres. At the same time, we urge them to exert the full weight of state power against terrorists and their collaborators to end these attacks immediately.

“We remain confident in the ability of our security forces to defeat terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping,” the statement added.
