Oluwo appointed permanent chairman of Osun West Council of Obas

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has been appointed the permanent chairman of the newly inaugurated Osun West Council of Obas.

His appointment was announced during the inauguration of the council held at the Oluwo’s palace in Iwo.

A video shared on the monarch’s official Facebook page showed traditional rulers from the Osun West Senatorial District adopting a motion for the establishment of the council.

The motion was moved by the Akire of Ikire-Ile, Oba Azeez Olatunbosun, and seconded by the Alawo of Awo, Oba Abdulrasaq Taiwo Adegboye, Abioye III, before it was unanimously adopted by the monarchs present.

Following the adoption of the motion, the traditional rulers appointed the Oluwo as the permanent chairman of the council.

The inauguration formally established the Osun West Council of Obas as a platform for traditional rulers in the district to collaborate on issues of common interest.

A communication platform for members of the council was also created immediately after the inauguration.
