Ondo cleric predicts 14 deaths over political crisis, urges Aiyedatiwa to intervene

The General Overseer of God Central Ministry, Prophet Olumuyiwa Akogun, has urged Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to take urgent steps to avert what he described as a looming political crisis in Ikale land, claiming he received a revelation that violence could claim 14 lives if left unchecked.

In a video circulating on social media, the cleric linked the alleged threat to a political dispute within the All Progressives Congress, saying the crisis was connected to an election disagreement, an ongoing legal battle and issues surrounding a House of Representatives seat.

Akogun said the situation could escalate into violence unless political leaders and government authorities intervened promptly to restore peace among the parties involved.

“I saw people carrying corpses, and I asked what they were fighting over. God revealed to me that the conflict was over election results. Those involved should allow peace to prevail before the situation gets out of hand,” the cleric said.

He further appealed to the state government to act swiftly, warning that the alleged crisis could result in the loss of 14 lives in Ikale land if efforts were not made to resolve the dispute peacefully.

“Please do something. Don’t destroy our heritage. Don’t turn our homes into mortuaries. This can still be prevented if the necessary steps are taken,” he added.

The latest warning comes months after Akogun released a similar viral prophecy in which he alleged that a political crisis could arise between Governor Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olaide Adelami, including a prediction of a possible impeachment attempt.

As of press time, neither the Ondo State Government nor the APC had responded to the cleric’s latest claims.
