Ondo LG Poll: Police announce restriction of vehicular movement during election

Ahead of the Ondo State Local Government Election slated for 18th of January, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, has announced restriction of vehicular and motorcycle movements within the period of 6am to 4pm on the said date for security reasons.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Spokesperson for the Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, said “Commuters who may have a reason to use the State as a passage are pre informed of the restrictions to help adjust their plans ahead of the D-day to nip any untoward act as they raise their ugly heads.
“Adequate security has been emplaced for both human and material resources to ensure smooth passage of the process.
“We urge all legible voters to abide by the rules guiding the electoral process while carrying out their Civic duty”.
The Command warned intending miscreants who may want to cause mayhem on election day to stay clear.
“However, Security Personnel, Medics, Health workers, firefighters and other Essential Service Providers are allowed free movements to carry out their duties. Cases of Emergency are considered also for movement”, said Odunlami.
