Ondo monarch set to earn degree, credits sacrifice, resilience

The Arujale-Ojima of Okeluse Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II, has reached another milestone in his educational pursuit after successfully defending his final project at the Department of Political Science, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti.

The monarch made the development public via a post on his official Facebook account, where he reflected on the challenges of combining academic activities with his responsibilities as a traditional ruler.

In his reflection, Oba Akinghare noted that managing leadership duties alongside school demanded years of determination, focus, and commitment.

According to him, the journey was not without pressure, but he remained steadfast with the support of God and people around him.

“Combining the demands of the palace with academic work has been quite challenging, but God has been faithful throughout the journey,” he said.

“It took sacrifice, discipline, and resilience to successfully navigate both responsibilities, and I am thankful that this phase is gradually coming to a successful conclusion,” the monarch added.

In his piece, he also expressed gratitude to his family members, chiefs, associates, and friends for their encouragement and support during the course of his studies.

Although Western Post couldn’t ascertain the exact programme Oba Akinghare enrolled for, the monarch’s achievement has continued to attract praise from admirers and members of the community, who described it as an inspiration to youths and public office holders on the value of education and perseverance.
