Osun hunters endorse Oyebamiji, promise 100,000 votes for APC

The hunters’ community in Osun State has vowed to mobilise more than 100,000 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking during the endorsement of the APC candidate, the Head of the hunters, Hammed Nureni, said the group resolved to support Oyebamiji following what he described as dissatisfaction with the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

According to him, the group had made efforts to engage the state government over its grievances but was allegedly treated with disdain, prompting its members to take a position ahead of the election.

Nureni said, “We tried to negotiate with the present administration to let them know what our problem is. We wrote to them, and they called us useless people. That is why our people have decided to vote them out.

“We have up to 14,000 members, and by adding our wives, children and friends, we will deliver over 100,000 votes come August 15″.

Responding, Oyebamiji described the endorsement as timely, saying it showed that different segments of Osun State were supporting his candidacy.

He said the development gladdened his heart and expressed confidence that he would win the August 15 election without rigging or external support.

“This is coming at the right time, and it signifies that all segments of Osun have endorsed Bola Oyebamiji to be governor of the state. This gladdens my heart that we will win this election without any rigging, without any support apart from God and the people of Osun,” he added.
