Oyebanji dedicates new government buildings to predecessors Fayemi, Fayose, Oni

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has named newly constructed government buildings after former governors Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chief Ayodele Fayose and Chief Segun Oni in recognition of their contributions to the development of the state.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode.

According to the statement, the building named after Fayemi will be commissioned on Friday, July 31, while the one named after Fayose will be inaugurated on Monday, August 3. Another building named after Oni is nearing completion and is scheduled for commissioning in October.

The gesture follows a similar move by Oyebanji in October 2024 when he named the remodelled Presidential Lodge after Ekiti’s first civilian governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo.

The facility was later commissioned by Adebayo during activities marking the second anniversary of the Oyebanji administration.

Fayemi, Fayose and Oni are expected to serve as special guests of honour and personally commission the buildings named after them on their respective inauguration dates.

Oyebode said the commissioning of the projects marks the beginning of another phase of project inaugurations as the governor rounds off his first term and prepares for a second term in office.
