A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has felicitated with the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, on his 70th birthday anniversary.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Oyintiloye described the Minister as a visionary and respected leader who leads a life of simplicity and renders selfless service to the people.

According to him, the Minister, a former Governor of Osun State, is worthy of celebration, having justified the purpose for which he was elected.

He said Oyetola’s conduct inspired confidence in the hearts of Osun people through his developmental programs and people-oriented policies during his tenure as governor.

Oyintiloye said, “There is no doubt that during his administration as governor, he embarked on various developmental strides, which included the massive revitalization and upgrading of 332 primary health facilities, and infrastructure development through the construction and rehabilitation of road networks across the nine federal constituencies of the state.”

He also noted that Oyetola’s administration was both responsible and responsive to public needs at all levels.

According to him, as a former Governor, Oyetola also embarked on dredging waterways to tackle flooding, extensive road construction and rehabilitation, as well as active interventions in the security of lives and property, among other initiatives.

The former lawmaker further stated that one of Oyetola’s key attributes as a responsible leader was the fulfillment of promises.

He said the Minister continues to advance good governance for the masses through his commitment to human development and capacity building by empowering youths through various social intervention programs for vulnerable groups, as well as the prompt payment of salaries and pensions.

Oyintiloye highlighted that other sectors also witnessed unprecedented transformation under Oyetola’s administration, particularly in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and rural community development, which boosted the state’s economic index and improved the social well-being of the people.

According to him, “Despite the fact that federal allocations at that time were meager, Oyetola, with his vast experience in both the private and public sectors, was able to manage the limited resources effectively, ensuring that every sector was impacted positively, which improved the lives of the masses in the state.”

“Oyetola is more worthy of celebration than ever because he demonstrated uncommon leadership by managing the socio-economic affairs of the state, fulfilling his electoral promises in the face of dwindling resources, and further consolidating developmental strides during his administration.”

“With Oyetola at the helm of affairs in Osun, it was clear to all, even to the doubting Thomases, that Osun was in the safe hands of a progressive gentleman and committed leader whose sole interest was the upliftment of the people.”

He added, “In the ministry he was assigned to by the President, Oyetola is significantly boosting the country’s economy by redefining sustainable growth in the gross domestic product (GDP) to serve as an alternative source of revenue for the country, unlocking the ministry’s potential to help revive the economy and reduce over-dependence on crude oil.”

Oyintiloye also congratulated Alhaja Kafayat, the Minister’s wife, along with members of his immediate family and professional and political associates, on his birthday celebration and wished him many more successful years ahead.
