Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have formally presented Senator Sharafadeen Alli to President Bola Tinubu as the party’s governorship candidate, putting an end to months of speculation over the ticket.

The delegation was led by former Deputy Governor and Oyo APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo. Other members included former Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun; former Senator representing Oyo Central, Senator Ayoade Adeseun; APC chieftain, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle; APC National Deputy Auditor, Mr Gbenga Olayemi; and Mr Soji Adedeji.
In the same vein, the APC leaders also introduced the party’s senatorial candidates to the president as part of efforts to demonstrate unity and readiness ahead of future elections.
The senatorial candidates presented were: Hon. Remi Oseni for Oyo South, Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, and Chief (Mrs) Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial District.
Party leaders said the presentation reflected the confidence of Oyo APC stakeholders in Alli’s candidacy and underscored the party’s determination to reclaim power in the state.
The move is also seen as a demonstration of cohesion within the party as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
