Peter Obi, others attend Onyeka Onwenu’s private burial

Ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi was among the notable dignitaries who attended the final burial ceremony and interment of singer, actress, author, and activist Onyeka Onwenu.
The late singer was laid to rest in Lagos on Friday, August 30.
Onwenu passed away on July 30 after performing at a birthday ceremony.
A service of songs was held in her honor at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, and was attended by prominent figures.

Peter Obi was among the public figures present at the burial.
The burial ceremony took place immediately after at the Ebony Vaults, James George Street, Off Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Members of the Onwenu family, friends, and clergymen stood at the gravesite to pay their last respects as the singer’s body was lowered into the grave.
Her two sons, Abraham and Tijani, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from the public and dignitaries.
The private burial was in line with the deceased’s wish for a modest and quiet farewell.
Her burial and interment took place exactly one month after her passing.
