President Bola Tinubu on Sunday received the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, alongside the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, in Lagos.
The meeting was contained in a post on X by Segun Dada, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.
Governor Abdulrazaq, who is serving his second term and is expected to complete it in 2027, has recently stirred political discussions in Kwara State after indicating Speaker Danladi-Salihu as his preferred successor.
The move comes amid early positioning within the All Progressives Congress (APC), where succession politics are often shaped by internal consensus-building, regional balancing across Kwara’s senatorial districts, and negotiations among key party stakeholders ahead of the next governorship cycle.
