Olam Agri secures 99.99 hectares for animal feed factory in Delta

The Delta State Government has allocated 99.99 hectares of land at Ogwashi-Uku to Olam Agri for the establishment of an animal feed production plant aimed at strengthening agricultural development and food security.

The state government presented the Certificate of Occupancy to the company at a ceremony held at Government House, Asaba.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori said the investment would expand agricultural opportunities, create jobs and improve livelihoods across the state.

Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for genuine investors, stressing that peace and cooperation were essential to attracting investments and promoting economic growth.

He said the state would continue to support initiatives capable of advancing agricultural development and creating opportunities for residents.

Olam Agri’s Managing Director, Amit Agarwal, said the proposed facility would bring animal feed production closer to markets in the South-South and South-East regions.

Agarwal said the plant would help address the animal feed supply deficit in the two regions, potentially improving access to feed for livestock farmers and supporting the growth of the agricultural value chain.

The investment is expected to contribute to Delta State’s agricultural development drive through job creation, improved feed availability and expanded economic activities.
