President Tinubu: Staying calm is the name of the game, second term in office beckons, by Kola Amzat

With the update in the political sphere, no one needs a soothsayer, astrologer, enchanter, diviner or prophet to affirm that the president is bound to coast home to resounding victory during the forthcoming 2027 general elections. All indications point to that direction!

The beauty of it: The development would not change, even, till 2027. . Indeed, the positive momentum would continue to swing in favour of the iconic, illustrious politician and ex-Lagos state governor, even,  after the curtains might have been drawn on the 2027 general elections.

The present development in the nation political landscape is unprecedented and most unthinkable.

Since the turn of 4 th Republic in 1999, and even, during the quiet and un-inspiring political eras of 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd Republics, the South/south Geo-political zone has exclusively been political fortress of the conservatives.

In that region and in those dark eras, progressives’ struggled with their tooth to exist. Hardly could they had an inch of the zone territory, during each electoral cycle in those better-forgotten political eras.

Suddenly, the tide has changed! The pendulum has swung! Only Asiwaju Bola Tinubu could explain the magic wand he deployed to achieve the incredible feat! No one else!

The entire Delta state PDP and their political structure have been offloaded to APC! The sweetener: Both the incumbent governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and the immediate past governor, the cerebral and cool- headed Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, incidentally, running mate to perennial presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential elections, and all their faithful across the length and breadth of the state have defected.

The unusual defections of the entire Delta PDP to APC would continue to reverberate in the annals of Nigeria political history for generation yet to come, for it has never happened that a whole political structure in all the three tiers-federal, state and local moved from one party to another, just in one fell swoop. It’s stunning!

But, for logistics reasons, similar ground sweeping political defections should have long been happened in Akwa Ibom state, another political fortress of the conservatives for about five decades.

Indeed, Governor Umo Eno has never left any one in doubt where he, and the entire PDP political apparatus and structure are headed.

Without any iota of doubt, it’s bound to happen! The comprehensive defection is imminent!

Meanwhile, on the lips of suspended governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara, these days, is APC. If providence gives him second chance and he survives the present travails, the overzealous and youthful suspended governor is APC bound.

Then the routing of South/south would complete! Equally, South/east zone, with similar political history with South/south are also almost in the fold of APC. Ebonyi and Imo states are already very dominant players in the progressive family.

Anambra’s Soludo has declared unequivocally where he headed in 2027. Of course, according to him, his APGA party have long unwritten alliance and collaboration with APC, as according to him, the two parties are progressively inclined.

Governors Peter Mbah and Alex Otti of Enugu and Abia states respectively are only playing ostrich with their parties; both have resolved, who they will cast the loins with, in 2027 presidential elections.

South/west Geo-political zone TOTAL bloc votes would assuredly be for APC. No controversy about that!

North/central zone presents a similar political spectacle. Kwara will be 100 percent votes for APC, particularly, with Bukola Saraki who is being reported to have completed his misadventure sojourn in PDP and seriously contemplating of retracing his steps back to APC.

Kogi state is a no go area for opposition groups. Indeed, they don’t have presence there! PDP have been obliterated there! Nassarawa and Niger states remained impregnable for opposition groups, especially, on account of the APC governors’ impressive performance in both states.

Despite the internal squabble between SGF, Senator George Akume and his political son, Governor Hyacinth Alia, the state continually remains APC fortress. When we get to the bridge, we will cross it.

Of course, Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang is 25 percent PDP and 75 percent APC. This is a statement of fact! Nigerians, and more importantly, the people of Plateau are oblivious of his deft moves to shift camp.

Conveniently, the president already has imperial, indomitable and unassailable presence in four geo-political zones.

The battle shifts to North/East, the zone of Atiku Abubakar. Presently, and in the years ahead, Borno is a no go area for conservatives, especially, on account of tremendous and deliberate wide scale infrastructural rehabilitation efforts of APC controlled federal government. Instructively, the cerebral and insightful Vice president, Shettima is also from the state.

Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and Mai Mala Buni of Gombe and Yobe states respectively are close confidants of the president and they aware that they must deliver en-bloc.

In Adamawa home of Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president has already lost grip. Buba Marwa, Nuhu Ribadu, Aishatu Binani and host of other APC political heavyweights have swept him aside.

With catastrophic reign of Bala Muhammed in the past years in Bauchi state, Atiku and other members of opposition groups would be stunned of humiliation awaiting them comes 2027 in the state.

And, of course, Agbu Kefas of Taraba state knows where he is headed comes 2027, despite the overwhelming influence of Theophilus Danjuma, the retired lieutenant general.

In North West geo-political zone, APC and the president will record landslide victory in Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Kano states and share votes in Sokoto and Zamfara states.

What now becomes of inordinate ambition of serial presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar who is still running from pillar post, pursuing Nigerian presidency that has long eluded him? El-Rufai is not even in this equation AT ALL! Even, in his home state of Kaduna, he has lost the battle before the contest starts.

This writer is of deep conviction and most Nigerians too, that the former FCT minister no longer has electoral value, to even muster votes to triumph in senatorial election in Kaduna state.

If he’s in doubt, let him contest on SDP platform, his new party, during the 2027 general elections!

At this juncture, it’s instructive to re-emphasize that Nigerian leadership is not for men continually enveloped with anger, desperation, inordinate ambition, strife, jealousy and hate, rather, topmost office in the land is for visionary, genuine and proven

performer with track records, strategist, discerning, men of valour, courage and character, as well as personality with helicopter views.

President Tinubu sufficiently proved his mettle while he was Lagosstate governor; the ladder he deployed to ascend to topmost office in the land.

Since he assumed authority as President, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Nigeria, he has NEVER left any one in doubt of his vision to launch the country into the comity of prosperous and well- respected nations.

His Midas touch reverberates in all gamut-economy, infrastructures, education, security architecture, ICT, medical infrastructures, socio- political etc.

It’s the president’s wide scale and incredible developmental strides across the length and breadth of the country, just within two years of inauguration, and more especially, his unmatchable, very visionary and detribalized leadership style, that have influenced all those PDP governors and national assembly members who have defected to do so, and, even, those who are waiting on the wings to made the moves.

Nothing else, absolutely! Who would now stand on his way for second term? What’s even the essence of governance? Is it not to make life meaningful and prosperous for the populace and for the country?

If someone is already doing that and he’s still constitutionally qualify to run, why struggling with him, if not for selfish reasons, greed and avarice?
