Saraki hosts Ileya hangout in Ilorin, provides free medical services

Former Senate President and Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, hosted his annual Ileya hangout in Ilorin to commemorate the Eid-el-Adha celebration, bringing together hundreds of supporters, associates, community leaders, and religious figures from across Kwara State.

The event, held at Saraki’s residence, provided an opportunity for guests to celebrate the festive season in an atmosphere of unity, friendship, and gratitude. Attendees interacted freely with the former lawmaker while enjoying various social activities that have become synonymous with the annual gathering.

The Ileya hangout, which has grown into a major fixture on Ilorin’s social and political calendar, attracted people from different walks of life. Guests shared meals, exchanged pleasantries, and participated in entertainment activities that reflected the spirit of the Eid-al-Adha festival.

A major highlight of this year’s edition was the provision of free medical services to participants. A team of healthcare professionals was on hand to offer basic medical examinations and treatment as part of a health outreach initiative organised during the event.

According to Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, the medical team provided services including blood pressure checks, eye examinations, and the distribution of medications for minor health conditions. The initiative was widely welcomed by attendees, many of whom took advantage of the free healthcare services.

The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the distribution of cash and material gifts to participants. Women, who turned out in large numbers adorned in colourful and elegant Ileya attire, were among the beneficiaries of the gesture, adding to the excitement that characterised the celebration.

Many attendees commended the combination of social engagement and community service, describing the event as an avenue not only for celebration but also for addressing basic healthcare needs. The gathering was marked by music, laughter, and expressions of goodwill throughout the day.

Saraki has consistently used the annual Ileya hangout as a platform to reconnect with the people of Kwara State, appreciate their support, and strengthen community bonds.
