President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on his 55th birthday, praising him for his leadership and contributions to the state and nation.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended Governor Zulum’s qualities as an academic, visionary, reformist, and statesman. He highlighted Zulum’s dynamic leadership style, noting that the governor embodies “the pragmatism and energy of youth, as well as the sobriety, prudence, and wisdom of age.”
The President lauded Governor Zulum’s hands-on approach to governance, particularly his unannounced early-morning inspections of rural clinics and essential agencies to ensure smooth operations and the provision of world-class services. Tinubu emphasized that such actions demonstrate a commitment to effective governance and accountability.
President Tinubu also praised Zulum’s courage in addressing security challenges in Borno State and his efforts in the resettlement of displaced citizens, highlighting the governor’s personal involvement in sensitive security operations as a testament to his dedication.
Moreover, the President acknowledged Governor Zulum’s unifying leadership in promoting the welfare of citizens from diverse backgrounds. He pointed out Zulum’s efforts to integrate Nigerians of various ethnicities and faiths into the Borno State Civil Service based solely on merit.
“Babagana is one of those luminescent north stars of meritocratic rise in the Nigerian political firmament,” President Tinubu remarked. “From humble beginnings, his tenacious pursuit of personal growth and subsequent contributions to state and national development serve as a guide to Nigeria’s future generations. Borno State and Nigeria at large are fortunate to benefit from his modest, rigorous, and visionary political and administrative leadership.”
As Governor Zulum celebrates this milestone, President Tinubu wished him continued good health and strength in his ongoing service to the nation.
