Tinubu mourns passing of Edun, Hadiyyatullah: ‘Nation has lost pillars of faith’

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to the families of two prominent Nigerians, Madam Olufunmilayo Adunni Edun and Sheikh Abdur Rasheed Hadiyyatullah Iwo, who passed away at the ages of 84 and 81 respectively.

In a message to Adeyemi Edun, CEO of Daniel Ford International, and the Edun family, the President praised Madam Edun as a compassionate matriarch devoted to prayer, charity, and community service, saying her legacy of wisdom and selflessness would endure.

President Tinubu also mourned Sheikh Hadiyyatullah, President of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria and founder of Sheikh Ibn Baz Shariah College in Iwo, Osun State.

He described him as a devout Islamic scholar and principled leader who made lasting contributions to religious education and justice.

The President recalled the Sheikh’s influential role during the 2023 elections, commending his commitment to truth and integrity.

Offering prayers for the repose of their souls, President Tinubu asked God to grant their families strength and urged their communities to carry forward the values of compassion, unity, and faith that defined their lives.
