Tinubu will get 90% of votes in Ekiti, Oluyede vows

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, has vowed to secure 90 per cent of the state’s votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Oluyede, who contested the June 20, 2026, governorship election on the PDP platform, said he would pursue the target through an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign across the state.

The PDP chieftain disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday, shortly after returning from a two-week holiday. He said he had activated the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda to begin mobilisation ahead of the election.

According to him, members of the PDP, All Progressives Congress and other political groups who share his vision for a better Ekiti and Nigeria are welcome to join the initiative.

Oluyede said supporting Tinubu for a second term would allow the reforms initiated by his administration to mature, arguing that Nigeria should not be made to restart its development process every four years.

“We are going to the people. We are going to mobilise. OPARHA will take the message to every door, every household, every ward and every community,” he said.

He added that the mobilisation would cover Ekiti’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards, while expressing his readiness to work with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other stakeholders regardless of their political affiliations.

Oluyede also said he had met with Tinubu and Oyebanji after the governorship election, describing the engagements as constructive. He said the discussions focused on promoting cooperation across party lines and placing the interests and development of Ekiti and Nigeria above partisan considerations.
