Tinubu’s reforms raise Nasarawa monthly allocation from N4.5bn to N16bn — Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu have increased the state’s monthly allocation from the Federation Account from about N4.5 billion to approximately N16 billion.
Sule said the increase in revenue had given the state more financial space to execute major infrastructure and development projects.
The governor spoke on Saturday in Lafia when he received members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Tour, led by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
According to a statement signed by Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Team, the team comprises presidential media aides and more than 50 senior journalists and is touring projects across North-Central states.
Sule said Nasarawa previously received between N3.8 billion and N4.5 billion monthly from the Federation Account, limiting the government’s ability to undertake major capital projects.
“For us in Nasarawa State, we are very transparent. I came from the private sector, so every contract I give, I announce the amount that we are spending on that contract, so that people can now see the difference with the kind of money we are receiving,” he said.
The governor said the increase in allocations followed the removal of fuel subsidy and other economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration.
He acknowledged that the reforms initially caused hardship but said Tinubu showed political courage by taking responsibility for difficult decisions that had been postponed by previous administrations.
“He took the bullet on behalf of the states and local governments,” Sule said, adding that the reforms had increased the resources available to the three tiers of government.
