VP Shettima arrives in São Tomé for independence day celebration

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in São Tomé, the capital of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, to attend the country’s 50th Independence Day celebration.

Accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the Vice President is representing President Bola Tinubu at the Golden Jubilee festivities, which have brought together several African leaders and dignitaries.

Shettima departed Abuja on Saturday to participate in the grand finale of events marking the island nation’s five decades of independence.
