‘We’ve taken RH messages to grassroots, inaugurated LG Structures’ – Ambassadors tell Tinubu
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State says all local government structures across Nigeria have been inaugurated down to ward levels, with enumeration activities now reaching polling units as part of a nationwide mobilisation and data-gathering effort under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA).
Uzodinma who spoke in his capacity as Director-General of the RHA, disclosed on Thursday during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he led other RHA leaders to brief the President on the progress of the initiative.
“Our purpose is to brief Mr President on how far we have gone with this national assignment… and to reaffirm that the structure he graciously created is not only alive but active, coordinated, and already creating measurable political and civic dividends across the nation,” Uzodinma said.
In an opinion article by Tunde Rahman, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties and Director of Communications for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), the group said its mobilisation framework has been fully activated at the sub-national level.
“All the structures of all the local governments have been inaugurated, as in the electoral wards. We have kick–started the process of enumeration up to the polling unit level. We are continuously harvesting data during enrolment, taking the messages to the markets, schools and professional groups, women’s platforms and faith-based and grassroots political structures.”
Deputy Director-General of the RHA and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, stressed the need for stronger communication of government activities and policies at the grassroots.
“We have to continue telling our story. If we don’t tell our story, other people will tell the story their own way,” he said, adding that political leaders must intensify outreach efforts across wards and communities.
He also praised President Tinubu’s support for sub-national governments, urging stronger messaging from governors, ministers, and agency heads.
