2027: Tinubu’s re-election is my top priority, says Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has openly declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, describing the President’s return to office as his foremost political objective ahead of the next general election.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News monitored in Asaba on Tuesday, the governor said President Tinubu’s economic reforms had positively impacted state finances and enhanced the ability of state governments to execute development projects.

Oborevwori stated that Tinubu’s re-election would further strengthen ongoing reforms and create additional opportunities for development across the country.

“I am appealing to Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu in 2027. His re-election is my number one project because it will help us achieve more for our people,” the governor said.

According to him, Delta State has experienced improved financial stability under the current administration, enabling the government to fund projects and meet contractual obligations without delays.

The governor noted that contractors handling state projects are paid promptly once work is certified, adding that the state no longer relies solely on monthly federal allocations before meeting its financial commitments.

“For the first time in the history of the state, we are not owing contractors. We mobilise contractors with 40 per cent and continue funding projects as work progresses,” he said.

Oborevwori attributed the state’s improved revenue profile to economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government, insisting that the policies were yielding tangible benefits.
