Aládé-ò-kọmọ, Wasiu Ayinde and the new round of paternity controversy — by Tinuade Ogunlesi

Aládé-kìí-kọ-ọmọ… Meaning the throne never rejects a child. Every child is valued by the throne because every child has potentials. None is a waste.

If you are truly a blue blood, you won’t disown or deny or reject or abandon a child, whether biological or not. Not even by virtue of your age or by your status in the society. Approaching the eight decade of life and you still behave like a secondary school student. Gosh!

Whatever happened between you and the mother of the child, is not any body’s business. What is of interest right now, is the fact that you are subjecting that innocent child to public ridicule.

That child is innocent and was not a party to whatever ill happened prior to, during or after her birth.

You cannot be laying claims to an Ìjẹ̀bú throne (which we all know is a lie, though) and you are recklessly desecrating the culture surrounding the same throne.

The song “urun mo ṣe mí ṣ’ọmọ gẹ̀gẹ̀, teemi ye mi” is an evergreen Ìjẹ̀bú song. Meaning? I have a reason for putting the highest premium on every child. And that shows how much the society treasures a child.

That you stood in the public, with your hopeless and hapless crowd of band boys who obviously would stoop any low to lick your ass, in the massage of your ego, and you referred to a child, a gift from the heavens, as “Saara”, a waste, is the height of irresponsibility.

Did you think of how that your public show of shame would affect the self esteem of that child, now and in the future?

In your usual reckless way of life, very soon, you will turn around to accept the same child you publicly and callously declared to be “Saara”. As usual, as if nothing ever happened in the past.

I guess something somewhere gives you the impression that you have the capacity and capability to go scot free after your usual deliquencies. Just like you almost got decapitated by the wing of a moving plane not too long ago.

The elders say, as you grow old, you stop patronizing warfares. As an ordinary citizen but by virtue of your age, you should learn to be more responsible.

Moreso, you now occupy a major chieftaincy post where you are supposed to represent all royal houses in Ìjẹ̀bú. It apparently does not occur to you that your current bad behaviours in public, are bad optics for Ìjẹ̀bú royalty.

“Omooba kii jagun bí ẹrú” meaning a prince goes to war with dignity and charisma. A true prince does not behave badly because he knows what he is carrying. When KSA sang that “Bibiire kò ṣé fowórà… ” song, he probably had you in mind.

Bros, you have shown that you carry nothing. That is why you referred to a child, as a waste, in defiance to the Ìjẹ̀bú culture that says “Aládé-kìí-kọ-ọmọ”.

Bros, even as the “place holding” representative of all Ìjẹ̀bú royalties, you are a misfit!
