Nigeria’s D’Tigress ended their 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup campaign on a disappointing note after suffering a heavy 111–56 defeat to France.

The African champions struggled to contain France’s dominance throughout the game, eventually losing by 55 points to record their third consecutive defeat in the competition.

France established control from the outset and maintained their superiority until the final buzzer, leaving D’Tigress with little opportunity to mount a comeback.

The result brought Nigeria’s World Cup campaign to an end, with the African champions falling short of expectations after a difficult outing at the tournament.

D’Tigress will now turn their attention to the next round of qualifiers, where they will aim to learn from the experience and return stronger.
