Oluremi Tinubu distributes empowerment items to 5,000 Enugu women, seeks support for Tinubu

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged women in the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying Nigerians would begin to enjoy the benefits of economic reforms after enduring their initial hardships.
She made the appeal on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East Women Presidential Rally in Enugu, where she declared that the country was approaching a period of prosperity.
“The pain of labour to birth a child is over. It is time for joy and prosperity,” the First Lady said.

Mrs Tinubu said Nigeria had endured the difficult phase of economic reforms and was now at the threshold of prosperity, urging women to support her husband’s bid for a second term.
She assured the gathering that the President would remain committed to transforming the country, adding that the APC was a party that fulfilled its promises.
The First Lady also highlighted the interventions of her Renewed Hope Initiative, saying the programme had continued to empower women, young people and vulnerable Nigerians through financial support, skills acquisition and the provision of equipment.
As part of the rally, she flagged off the distribution of empowerment items to 5,000 women in Enugu State.
The event attracted APC leaders and political office holders from the South-East, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru and the Imo State Governor.
