Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commended security agencies in the state for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property, following fresh breakthroughs in ongoing clearance operations.
The governor gave the commendation on Monday after a marathon security council meeting in Ilorin, where he received updates on operations leading to multiple arrests, prosecutions, and the interception of arms from hostile non-state actors.
The meeting was attended by heads of security formations, including the police, state security service, Army, Navy, Air Force, NSCDC, Immigration Service, NDLEA, and representatives of the National Security Adviser. Senior government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Attorney General, and security advisers, also participated.
Security commanders briefed the governor on the successes recorded across different flashpoints, assuring that sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations are helping to curb criminal activities.
The governor praised the security operatives for their commitment, describing them as “true patriots who put their lives on the line daily to protect citizens.” He assured the state government would continue to provide the necessary support to enhance their effectiveness.
Calling on residents to remain vigilant and volunteer timely intelligence that could assist security forces in their operations, he added that public cooperation remains a crucial factor in consolidating the gains recorded in the fight against crime.
