Alaafin appoints Bilaal Akinola as Chief Imam of Oyo

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, has appointed Barrister Alhaji Bilaal Oseni Akinola as the new Chief Imam of Oyo land.
According to a press statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Media and Publicity to the paramount ruler, the appointment was contained in a letter personally signed by the Alaafin.
Oba Owoade expressed joy and gratitude to Almighty Allah for His mercy in elevating Alhaji Akinola to such a revered spiritual position in the ancient city of Oyo.
In the letter, the monarch stated: “Having passed through the duly conducted screening exercise, I have the pleasure to inform you that you have been selected by me as the new Chief Imam of Oyo.”
He described the occasion as both significant and sacred, not only for the people of Oyo but also in the sight of Allah, emphasizing that leadership in Islam demands humility, sincerity, and justice.
Oba Owoade congratulated the new Chief Imam and prayed for divine wisdom and guidance in the discharge of his duties to the Muslim Ummah and the entire Oyo Kingdom.
