APC’s Oyebamiji faults reports of Tinubu’s support for Adeleke

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026 election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term.

Oyebamiji maintained that he remains the president’s endorsed candidate for the election, describing reports of Tinubu’s support for Adeleke as false and misleading.

He spoke during the inauguration of 7,830 polling unit canvassers by the APC Governorship Election Campaign Council in the Ifedayo, Ila and Boluwaduro Federal Constituency.

Accompanied by his running mate, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, Oyebamiji also pledged to uphold fairness, justice, accountability, transparency and equitable distribution of resources if elected governor.

The event also featured the reception of defectors from various councils, including Hon. Ganiyu Ajiboye and Hon. Sulaiman Oladoye Salawu.

Speaking at the inauguration, Oyebamiji described the canvassers’ programme as a strategic move to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and boost the party’s electoral chances across the state.

“This is another milestone in the history of our party to reawaken the consciousness of our people, especially the electorate at the polling units. With this, victory is assured as we are resolute to wrest power from the incumbent government,” he said.

Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Election Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, who inaugurated the canvassers, urged them to work diligently to secure victory for the party and its candidate in the forthcoming election.
