The former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde and a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Chief Bisi Ilaka, has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State.

The UK-trained lawyer and Ladilu of Oyo confirmed his decision on Thursday, explaining that the move followed wide consultations with political associates, supporters, and other key stakeholders across the state.

According to Ilaka, the decision was carefully considered but ultimately necessary to reflect his political convictions and future ambitions. He noted that the ADC provides a platform that aligns with his vision for grassroots development and political growth.

Ilaka served as Chief of Staff during Governor Makinde’s first term and contested the Oyo Central senatorial seat under the PDP in the 2023 general election. Until his resignation, he remained a notable figure within the party’s political structure in Oyo State.

Speaking on his next political step, he confirmed his readiness to continue his career within the ADC, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
