El-Buba endorses Adebayo for 2027 presidency, says only SDP can fix Nigeria

A Christian cleric and political mobiliser Prophet Isa El-Buba has endorsed Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo, saying Nigeria needs a new political direction to overcome underdevelopment.
Speaking at the launch of Adebayo’s 2027–2031 policy blueprint, Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity, El-Buba said he supported the candidate after studying his proposals, which he described as a credible plan to rebuild Nigeria.
He praised the blueprint’s focus on security, food, water, energy, healthcare, education, housing, jobs, justice and digital access, as well as its goal of moving Nigeria from dependency to self-reliance.
“If there is one person that is going to really, really fix Nigeria as we desire, it is Prince Adewole,” he said.
El-Buba also endorsed Adebayo’s running mate, Professor Abduljalil Tafawa Balewa Bugaje, and announced plans to mobilise supporters, beginning in Kano and extending to the North-Central states.
He urged each supporter to mobilise at least 100 people and called on the SDP to field candidates based on integrity, competence and character rather than wealth.
“It is time we present to Nigeria that SDP is no longer the SDP of yesterday. The present SDP is the SDP of credibility, competence and character,” he said.
El-Buba expressed confidence that the party could mobilise 15 million Nigerians behind Adebayo and Bugaje, urging citizens to participate actively in changing the country’s political future.
