Falconets will defeat New Caledonia on Sunday – Coach Aduku

Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, Moses Aduku, has assured that his side will give their all when they face New Caledonia at Stadion Miejski LKS Łódź on Sunday.
New Caledonia sit at the bottom of Group F after suffering heavy defeats to China (0-5) and Spain (0-11) in their opening two matches. The debutants are yet to earn a point and have a goal difference of minus 16.
Despite their opponents’ poor results, Aduku said the Falconets would not underestimate New Caledonia, stressing that his players are in good spirits and ready for the decisive encounter.
“The results in their last two matches notwithstanding, we will not underrate our opponents. I am happy because the girls are in good spirits and ready to go, and there are no injuries in our camp as I speak,” he said.
“We all know the implication of not scoring goals on Sunday, so we will go in there and focus on scoring goals to stand a chance of reaching the next round. We cannot afford to go back home now.”
Nigeria, who have one point from their goalless draw with China on Thursday, must secure a convincing victory to overcome their two-goal deficit and improve their goal difference.
A strong win would give the Falconets a chance of advancing to the Round of 16, regardless of the outcome of the other Group F encounter between Spain and China.
