Isbae U opens up on inspiration behind ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’
Nigerian skit maker Adebayo Ridwan, popularly known as Isbae U, has revealed the inspiration behind his interview series, “Curiosity Made Me Ask”.
Isbae U spoke about the project during a recent appearance on the Morayo Show, saying it was part of his journey of self-discovery in the entertainment industry.
The content creator said he was inspired by “Between Two Ferns”, a talk show hosted by American comedian Zach Galifianakis.
He said he reached a point where he became dissatisfied with being average and wanted to establish a distinct identity rather than be regarded simply as another skit maker.
“It came from me finding myself. There was a day I said to someone that I was done being mediocre, being average. I wanted to do something different,” he said.
Isbae U said the aim of “Curiosity Made Me Ask” was to reveal aspects of celebrities that audiences had not previously seen.
He also dismissed the perception that he had stopped creating skits, saying he still writes and contributes to stories for other content creators behind the scenes.
“A lot of people thought or think I have stopped creating and just doing Curiosity Made Me Ask. But low-key, there are people I write stories for, people I help with their stories,” he said.
