JAFAK RingoNG Cup: 16 teams drawn as organisers promise bigger rewards

Organisers and sponsors of the fifth edition of the JAFAK RingoNG Cup have promised bigger opportunities for Kwara youths and communities as the draws for the grassroots football competition were held on Tuesday at the Conference Room of the Kwara Football Academy, Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, RingoNG Chief Technology Innovator, Dimeji Adefila, said the tournament had continued to provide grassroots footballers with opportunities to compete, connect and attract recognition.

Adefila congratulated the 16 participating teams and commended the convener, Prince Lanre Fakayode, the Technical Committee, coaches, officials, volunteers and other stakeholders for sustaining the competition over the years.

He said RingoNG’s partnership with the tournament went beyond sponsorship, describing it as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility commitment to supporting the Ilorin community.

According to him, the company also promotes community safety through technology that enables residents to report security concerns, suspicious activities, accidents, fires, missing persons and other emergencies.

He said, “Our message is simple: a safer community is a stronger community, and everyone has a role to play,” adding that RingoNG remained committed to helping communities become more informed, connected and responsive.

Meanwhile, the 16 teams were drawn into four groups, with Kzeez FA, Team of God FC, Okaa Sport FC and Polo Bar FC in Group A; Araba FC, Royal FA, JAD FC and Police Machine FC in Group B; Abraysports FC, Young Talents FC, Real Eagles FC and Waziri FCFC in Group C; and Stafford FC, Petalonix FC, Rhema FC and New Star FC in Group D.

The organisers said the tournament would provide another platform for grassroots players to showcase their talents while promoting community engagement, with attention now shifting to the commencement of the matches.
