JUST IN: Tinubu returns to Abuja after Eid al-Adha holiday
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday spent in Lagos, where he held a series of political and official engagements.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 5:17 p.m. and was received by top government officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Inspector General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun, alongside other senior officials.
During the holiday period, Tinubu received Vice President Kashim Shettima and several delegations for Sallah homage, including Senate leadership led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
He also met with members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum led by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Oyo State and party candidates for legislative offices from Lagos State.
On Monday, the President attended the International Fleet Review at Eko Atlantic City as part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy. He also commissioned three naval vessels — NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila, and NNS Gurara.
Tinubu also received the President of the Republic of Benin, Patrice Talon, in a meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
Before the Eid holiday, the President had been in Lagos for All Progressives Congress activities, including participation in party primaries across various elective positions.
