Kemi Adeosun, former finance minister, loses husband in Lagos
Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has lost her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, who died on Wednesday in Lagos at the age of 62.
The Adeosun family announced his passing in a statement issued on Thursday by Rev. C. A. Adeosun, describing the late businessman as a devoted Christian whose life was marked by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith.
According to the family, Anthony Adeosun was committed to his family, community and service to God, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and compassion that positively impacted many lives.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother, Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos,” the statement read.
The family said it was drawing strength from its Christian faith as it mourned the loss and appealed for prayers during the difficult period.
It added that funeral and burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, Kemi Adeosun, his children and siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder, Adewale Adeosun.
The family also expressed appreciation to friends, associates and well-wishers for their prayers, condolences and support, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
