Lagos Assembly cautions job seekers, vendors, contractors against fraudsters

The Lagos State House of Assembly has cautioned job seekers, contractors and prospective vendors against fraudsters and unauthorised persons demanding money in exchange for employment, appointments, contracts and other opportunities linked to the Assembly.
The warning was contained in a public disclaimer issued by the Assembly and signed by the Clerk of the House.
The Assembly stated that it neither requests nor receives money, fees or gratification in exchange for employment, appointments, contract awards, procurement opportunities or any other official benefit.
According to the notice, all recruitment, procurement, tendering and related activities are conducted through established statutory procedures and communicated via official channels.
The Assembly urged members of the public to beware of individuals who demand payment while claiming to represent the legislature.
It warned that anyone who makes payment to such individuals does so at their own risk, stressing that the Assembly would not be liable for any resulting loss or damage.
The Assembly further stated that anyone found soliciting or collecting money in connection with jobs, contracts or other opportunities purportedly involving the legislature would be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for investigation and possible prosecution.
