LSDPC rebuilds LASTMA office destroyed during EndSARS protests, donates vehicles

The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has rebuilt the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Zone 25 office destroyed during the 2020 EndSARS protests and donated two operational vehicles to strengthen traffic management in the Bariga and Oworonshoki areas.

The renovated office complex and vehicles were officially handed over to LASTMA as part of the corporation’s corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at supporting public institutions and improving service delivery.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, LSDPC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ayodeji Joseph, represented by the Executive Director, Business Development and Joint Venture, Derin Phillips, said the intervention reflected the corporation’s commitment to supporting government agencies through impactful projects.

He said partnerships among government institutions were essential to improving public service delivery and ensuring agencies were adequately equipped to serve residents more efficiently.

Receiving the renovated office and vehicles, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, thanked the management of LSDPC for the intervention, describing it as a major boost to the agency’s operations.

Bakare-Oki said the reconstructed office would provide a better working environment for officers in Zone 25, while the additional vehicles would improve response time to traffic incidents across the axis.

The Zone 25 office had remained abandoned since it was destroyed during the EndSARS protests in 2020 before LSDPC undertook its reconstruction.

LSDPC said it would continue to support public institutions through strategic interventions aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing service delivery and promoting safer communities across Lagos State.
